I was talking to another member on the phone this morning and I think one of the most important things brought up is that unlike most venues, 99% of us want each other to succeed... even if it is someone competing in a niche.
It might surprise some members, but the only persons who seem to have 'issues' with competition vs success are the ones who are unsuccessful in their bid to compete. It might also surprise some members to find out that cliques do not exsist in any of the games currently being hosted by OLA members... at least not the way they think.
WEBSTERS defines "clique" as: A small and exclusive group of people. The game is open to everyone, so the word 'clique' would not apply. Going further into the game, people refer to people buying from the same people each week as being 'clique'-ish... but again, let's look at the facts: Almost every member has said they buy what they need. They buy from those who have honest shipping prices. They buy what they can afford. That is not 'clique'-ish, that is just what they say it is. Many Wavers sell products that are bought again and again: Candy, Taffy, Fudge, Soap, Candles, etc. Those who buy from sellers whose business is something that gets used up on a regular basis are naturally going to buy over and over if they like the product. That is NOT 'clique' mentality, that is repeat business. People also tend to buy from established members, which again is not 'clique' mentality, it's a reward to the 'proven' seller for doing good business over an extended amount of time.
My statement to those who think there is a clique in any of the games is this: Perhaps you should spend more time figuring out what is a better product for you to sell than over-taxing your mind on non-exsistant obstacles. Insulting fellow members who truly want you to succeed is a sure fire way to guarantee no sales.
